Peace of mind

Man that is an amazing song for playing air guitar while driving down the road, wind in your hair, sun on your face. “I don’t care about competition – all I want is to have my peace of miiiiiiiiiii-iinnnnnnndddd” {insert mad guitar riff skills here}.
What I’m talking about today though is not the Boston song, but the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you are doing all you can to protect your babies.300X250-banner
Cord Blood Banking is a pretty hot topic among new moms these days. It was still in its infancy when I was pregnant with my babies, but the concept of it was something I always thought was a great idea. Science is moving forward so fast these days, the things they are learning from studying cord blood and how they are able to extrapolate information about diseases and other genetic conditions is truly mind boggling.

Is cord blood banking something you’ve thought about before? It can be hard to know where to even start. I was approached by a company that partners with a cord blood banking company to help get the word out to other moms like myself who may be interested in learning more about how cord blood banking can be beneficial to the future health of our kids. Here’s some of what that company has to say:

There’s only one opportunity to save your baby’s stem cells for the future…

As an expectant parent, your baby’s health means everything. Right now, he or she is protected in the womb and will soon enter the world. There is a lot to think about and prepare for, but an invaluable step you can take when your child is born is to preserve his/her stem-cell rich cord and placenta blood The ability of stem cells to save lives via cord blood banking has proven successful for replacing abnormal or diseased cells, and treating life-threatening blood disorders such as leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. In fact, since 1988 stem cell transplants have been used to treat some 80 diseases.

“LifebankUSA is a pioneer in placenta-stem cell technology. Our stem cell banking program meets and exceeds the highest standards in the industry-and we are the only company that can provide access to technology that allows you to boost the number of cells you can recover after birth.”
