December Daily. #12

Ok could it be any colder?

Wait. Don’t answer that. I don’t really want the weather to prove to us that it CAN indeed be colder.

And for the record, this is the SECOND time I am typing this exact same post because WLW crashed the first time and lost the whole thing – RIGHT as I was about to hit publish!!!! I am way too tired for this!

So. Our sunday started out nice and cold, but Kendall and I were smart enough to stay home for most of the day. So that I could “have a relaxing morning”. Which involved moving furniture to set up for a photo shoot, chasing Kendall around because she was going haywire crazy with a crayon and any surface she could practice “dot-dot-dot” on (it’s something her therapist does with her, it’s like “pre-coloring” fine motor work), taking the worlds quickest shower and then sitting down, finally, for all of about seven minutes before the family came home with lunch and my friends showed up for their photo shoot! Very relaxing. (albeit quite fun).

The photo shoot was seriously one of the most fun i’ve had in a while – there is just ashland1 something about the dynamics of sisters, and preschool aged sisters at that – that makes everything so much more interesting. Especially when it is not my “interestingness” to have to be separating dealing with.

and I know someday little A will hate me for this picture, but for now, it cracks me up beyond belief! I have entitled it “When {stuffed} foxes go wild…”

After that we all bundled up to brave the cold and the freezing rain to go to the UMDF Chicago Chapter’s Holiday Family Party. It was a really good time, and the girls loved it. This may have been due in large part to me allowing them to make their own mixed drinks from the coke machine…gag me. But it was a good time to be around other families who deal with what we deal with, who understand what we are going through, and to show the girls  that there are other people out there who are “sick like kendall” and that underneath it all, they are someone’s brother or sister too. I absolutely loved our time there. Plus the food was ROCKIN’ good. It was held at the LaBriola Bakery in Oakbrook, and I highly recommend it if you need a fun party place! Or just a good lunch sometime!

I am putting a link to the rest of the album here so you can see a little bit more of what it was like!

Party on Party People!

  1. You did such a great job with the girls! SO PATIENT!!! Thank you!
I’m pretty sure we are going to have to frame this one!!

  2. It was so nice to get all caught up on Kendall. She’s such a doll and has had such a rough year. Happy Holidays
